The game that Bartosz and Jonas play in episode 5 of season 1 is called the Surge by German developer Deck 13. And To the Max! Surge may not be the strongest Brawler, but he can hold his own against most other names on the current cast of Brawl Stars. Power Surge makes a great gap closer to finish off low Brawlers, but can also be used defensively to reposition. There are so many “repetitive” comments that irk me when I dig up old threads on this game. I’ve played all of the Soulsborne games and appreciate how much care and work was put into The Surge. It doesn’t reach the level of quality of Dark Souls, but it’s a game worth you time most definitely. It lacks in term of variety and most bosses are just ok, with one or two being more than that.
There is no news on what this next game will be, but Deck 13 was recently acquired by Focus Home Interactive, which also published The Surge games.
